    motor oil

I've always ran valvoline 5w30 oil with a k&n oil filter since 58k and now I'm getting close to 100k. My question is my uncle game me two 5qt jugs of valvoline 5w30 high mileage synthetic blend oil and I'm afraid to use it for fear of leaks or any other issues if I decide to go back to normal valvoline 5w30. If I can't use it so be it its not a big deal but I figured I have it so if I can use it I will.

i run amzoil full synthetic and someone told me it wasnt good to switch back and forth between regular and synthetic but after my valves started leaking and it was using a quart every 500 miles i had to look for something cheaper til i got my new motor and the dealership said i could just start pouring regular oil in it and assured me it would be fine i couldnt really tell a difference except i was saving about 4 dollars every 500 miles

In my old truck I ran synthetic for the 1st couple oil changes then started using the oil from o'reilleys house brand 10w-40 , The truck currently has 220K and never had any trouble, it sets in the garage waiting for my oldest son to drive, hes 14 now.

My theory is as long as you change it your good, now on serious high performance machines I could see a problem with cheaper oils like goldenstate.

Ive been runnin the 5w30 high mile valvoline for the past few years in my truck. 175k and still no visible leaks, doesnt burn any, and runs like a top. Its some pretty good oil IMO
