no you just have to remove heat shield on the passenger side of the trans, i think they are 10mm bolts and then you will see the servo cover.

heres a good video for you to look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WpjGQnEixo if you dont have a new servo cover o ring DONT cut it like they say, just pull it hard and remove cover

i had to drop the tranny crossmember... went for a two mile test drive and the cover popped out on one side blowing tranny fluid everywhere.

i didnt think there was suppose to be any fluid in there, when i pulled the cover the first time there was maybe half a cup in it. I really thought i had the snap ring fully in the grove... after the drive there is fluid from the tranny to the rear end, everywhere, and the bottom side of the cover is out further than the top. I knew the servo wouldnt be as easy as it said. it also wont go in 4th...

yes that snap ring has to be seated all the way in, i used a pry bar and wedged it between the servo cover and body and pushed it down. before you re-install the servo make sure ALL the orings on the servos are good, also check the split orings on the 2nd and 4th piston to make sure there not bad. There is soppose to be fluid in it as well. not much but like you said a cup or so.

well, when the cover got pushed out, it went out on the top but the bottom side actually trapped the snap ring in the groove. so after two hours of fighting snap ring then the cover, its off. 4th apply piston (i think thats what its called) came right off. but the pin and assembly wont pull out, easily. its dark again, and i have plans, so i get home at 545pm tomorrow and its getting dark around 530, so idk when i'll be able to get at it again...

I can change 4 struts and springs in a hour and 15 minutes from jack up to jack down, when doing it for the first time, but a "30 minute" servo install has taken me this long... I feel like the kid who took a year to swap rearends.

finally got to work on it again... was such a pain to get the servo back out... i dont think it sratched the walls. it broke the ring around the main piston. imma try to find another ring and put it together, and make sure the snap ring seats this time.
