    finally got 20s

well i traded some nissan wheels for these BOSS 20s and tires straight up. they aren't my favorite wheels but they work. i took off all the off road stuff. i still need to get the 2.5 CCM out of the front and install some shackles this weekend. i got two new tires coming tomorrow. im just very happy. this gave me drive again to work on this thing.

bad news is i put 10 thousand miles on a Tru-Trac and it blew up friday. so im back to a one wheeler peeler with 4.10s .... how gay! im gunna save for some AAM 4.10s and buy a loc rite or detroit by next year. hope to have my tune fixed before then though.

and sorry its a gay cell phone pic. ill take better pics when i get the stuff done this weekend.

How did you break your tru-trac? I went thru a set of heavy super swampers, on spray, and haven't had any problems with mine. Looks good tho

i don't really know. it shocked me too! i haven't had a bit of problem out of it and i've hammered it as hard as my little 4.8 could. the only thing i can think of is i had my truck tuned back to stock for some warranty work and before i had the auto-track bull crap turned back off i got in a little mud and maybe it and the locker didn't like each other. but anyways one day at work i backed up and it rolled over it's self 3 times and came to a binding hault! so i drove it to get parts for work to see what the deal was and it lasted a while but roared loud and would click clickclick around turns and smooth out then go back to clicking in straight lines. when i finally made it back to the shop i backed up and it sounded like metal on metal.

later i took it to my girl friends shop and i popped the cover to just find stupid dirty fluid but no metal material. so i don't know what the deal was but i put the stock carrier back in and im gunna get it warrrantyed i hope through ron's where i bought it.

My eaton clutch type LSD lasted less than one year before it self destructed. It didn't just wear out the clutches, the whole thing took a crap, internal bearing surfaces and all. It was full of fluid. Maybe the nitrous was too much for it. It was also a 9.5" unit, too.

well i don't know there isn't much out there right now for a 8.6 rear. if it was a 8.5 it would have a lock rite in it. ive had one of those and 35s and it did fine! and gave ya that old clank clank clank around corners lol

but anyways its a 4.8 and and 4L60... i looked for the servo locations and couldn't find it the other day at a glance under the truck (i scratched my head, hmmmm).

what headers are yall runnin on these 07+ trucks?

everyone on gmfullsize is tellin me to keep the leveling kit and run 33s but i just put two new tires on it so im gunna give it a while so down a notch it will go..... we'll see how long it last.

the next step is to save to have nathan (gasguzzler) rebuild my rear end with AAM gears and a new locker if i keep it... kinda been wishin for a while i didn't go back to a single cab. it hard to function in
