I have cut the springs before and had no prob with anything people do this all the time and never tell anyone that they did so its up to u just make sure u cut the same amount on both sides.

cutting the springs will kill your ball joints...believe it or not.
I would get some DJM lower control arms with stock springs and spindles, aligns perfect and will keep your ball joints in good shape for years.
Of course the lower control arms are gonna drop it 4" not 3"...... just a thought
