Nice, thanks. I figured there was more to it than just the flywheel.
Everything I've been finding uses Getrag 290 & NV3500 synonymously. Hmmm... but wikipedia says the NV3500 didn't show up until '93.

There is actually NV1500 NV2500 and the 3500.

there is more to it than the flywheel. there is a difference in bellhousing depth that must be taken into account. am in process of a 4.8l swap into my 90 c1500 with getrag 290 5spd. i used an ls1 flywheel for a camaro ss with my stock truck clutch and flywheel. had to find a longer clutch release bearing. napa part number n1086sa. found this info researchin on ls1tech and its working for me so far

Thanks for the info!
But you say that you use the flywheel off of an ss camaro with your stock clutch and flywheel. I'm asuming you mean that you use the ss flywheel with the stock clutch. Correct?

lmao. yeah, my mistake. my head been rattled lately. am puttin the 90 together with all kinds of headaches, workin on putting my 04 back together too, and having to deal with gettin my 2 little boys from the state after my exwife got kids taken away. so a lot going on right now. what i meant is the ss camaro flywheel with my truck clutch and pressure plate.

Man hope you get your kids back soon! Don't know what I would do with out my kids.
Ok cool. I'll look into the ss flywheel. How did you find out to use the ss flywheel? Is there a difference between the ss and regular camaro flywheels?

Good thing about using the camaro flywheel is that there is a lot of aftermarket parts for it. Just wondering if I should use the stock replacement 4.8 flywheel or go with the lighter more expensive unit.
