I have a 2002 reg cab 4x4 with a gutless 4.3 5spd.....i want to put in a 5.3 and keep the 5sp...need a parts list from someone that has or looked into this type of swap...any help would be awsome...O and i have to do this as cheap as i can!!!

This is a more difficult swap than you'd think when it come's to keeping the manual. I'm not sure why but 03redwt had a lot of trouble with his computer on this swap. I think it had to do with the trans tables in the tune, but I can't recall.
Other than that it's the cookie cutter v6 to v8 swap you'll read about in the stickies here.

Just get a trans segment swap to manual and you will be fine. Same thing that is done for people putting 5.3s in front of TH350 and TH400.Originally Posted by pl4yboy
Yep. Seems like he had done a segment swap but was still having issues. It got worked out in the end, but I can't remember what happened.
