    Question F.a.s.t102 intake

according to this test they lost power in low end and gained very little in top end so they switched back to the stock intake
im really doing alot of reading and looking up on this intake before i blow $1,200,that test was on a 6.2...they mentioned they didnt have enough cubes?

    what do u think?

i think $1200 would be better spent on something else, $/hp imo arent worth it, unless you have deep pockets and everything else done to the truck. but that intake looks killer and is supposed to have really good flow.

i went with a stock ls3 intake and had it ported, a whole lot cheaper than that thing. Another part of the problem is i feel sure they ran a 90mm tb on that where to see any gains i feel sure you need a 102 tb, last time i went to lmr every l76 car there had these intakes and they have some one make them 102 dbw tb's not sure what there gains are but i was looking at over 10,000$ in intakes and tb's kinda freaked me out a little lol. I would just have your truck intake ported or get a vette intake and have it ported

i run the nasty performance fuel rails i think, you would be fine with a stock vette or camaro rail

Was that a 102 car intake? I saw a test on of the 102 truck intake on a Vmax at PT.net and it gained 19hp peak and lost nothing anywhere in the curve and that was with the stock TB.

Nevermind I clicked the link. Yeah the LS3/LS7 intakes are not blowing anyone away. That tells me GM actually did a good job with these intakes. Now the 102 stuff on a cathedral motor is still doing well.

if you are not going 408+ i wouldnt worry with that intake imo. UNLESS you plan on a huge ass turbo/Procharger set up.
