I figured a 3600 stall and 4.11 would work good?

It all depends on what you want from your truck. Everyone recommends what they read on the internet, and your setup is something someone definitely WOULD NOT recommend. With that cam and stock heads and a 3600 verter with 4.11's, NO it WILL NOT be optimal...BUT, the truck will still run good. To make the most of that cam, you'd need a good intake; vic jr or some sort of FAST intake, 4000+ converter, 4.56 or deeper gears and some good tuning.

These people make it seem like your truck won't even run if you put that cam in your truck...Not true at all. With some slicks on a 100shot you're prolly still going to run some mid to low 12's. How often do you go to the track? Do you do any other racing with it? Roll racing? That cam won't be easy to tune, depends on how much time you want to put into it.

Like I said, what do you want to do with your truck? If you're wantin to set the world on fire with it, you better sit down and figure out a game plan. If you're expecting just that big cam to get the job done, you're gonna be very disappointed. If you just want it to make some good numbers on the dyno, run decent at the track, be fast from a roll and have a mean enough sound to make old women cry, then yeah, that will work for you.

It's been provin time and time again, you can't really go wrong with the tr220 or tr224. I don't care how many of the custom cam grinders say those lobes are old and wore out...The fastest stock longblock 5.3 still belongs to blue cajun who still has the old wore out tr220.

The plan for the truck is that I want it to run constant mid 12s and I would like it to be in the 12s on motor. I know a big cam wont put me there, that is just one that was suggested to me. The truck only gets taken to the track at the most twice a month and that's it. I always go from a roll, due to traction also. It pulls good now but I know that is just a small cam so I figured it might wake it up a lot to change it. I'm open to any suggestions that anyone has. I just hope all my questions may help someone else also.

Also do they make a nitrous perimeter plate for these trucks?

12's on motor with the 5.3 ain't gonna happen without slicks...period.

Even then, its gonna be close. If you run 12's on motor, you really have your shit together with a 5.3. You prolly have the gears and converter to get really close with the tr224. But again, its gonna take sticky tire. Your truck may run mid 12's now if you had a sticky tire. What was your 60' time with the 20s?

Yes, NOS, Nitrous Outlet, and Harris Speedworks all make a plate that will fit your stock truck intake.

You should come to Thunder Valley friday night. I'd like to take a look at your truck.

My truck isn't as good looking as yours haha. She's a diamond in the rough and my 60' was 2.025 with a slow .781 r/t haha. I don't use the nitrous till I get goin about 30. That was on 20's

Throw some slicks on there and spray it out of the hole and hang on!
