Thread: Rollpan, 3inch body lift, and receiver hitch???

    The OEM hitch bolts to the frame. It has 2 bolts that do go through the bumper for added strength. You could buy a universal one and mount it upside down inside the frame rails. I'd get some measurements before just to verify that it will match to the cutout in the roll pan.

    you DO NOT want to use the oem one without the bumper.... lets just say i've seen one come off, wasn't pretty.

    I've seen one come off WITH the bumper too, but took a lot more effort lol
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

    And if you try to use it without being bolted to the bumper it will bend and rip the frame. Seen it happen on a lot of trucks with roll pans, or somebody doesn't put the bumper bolts in.
    The OEM hitch is not meant to be used without a bumper.
