You can get a 'universal' one that bolts to the frame (instead of the crappy oem ones that bolt to the bumper). It'll sit a little lower, and kind of be an eye sore, but it'll tow normal. I bought one, and was just going to put it on the couple times a year I actually tow. But the decided a bumper was nice to have, just to get in/out of the truck. With my lift/body lift, i'd be screwed with a rollpan, unless I got an ugly step for the hitch.

The OEM hitch bolts to the frame. It has 2 bolts that do go through the bumper for added strength. You could buy a universal one and mount it upside down inside the frame rails. I'd get some measurements before just to verify that it will match to the cutout in the roll pan.

you DO NOT want to use the oem one without the bumper.... lets just say i've seen one come off, wasn't pretty.
I've seen one come off WITH the bumper too, but took a lot more effort lol

And if you try to use it without being bolted to the bumper it will bend and rip the frame. Seen it happen on a lot of trucks with roll pans, or somebody doesn't put the bumper bolts in.Originally Posted by Duct_tape123
