Correct me if Im wrong, I could also use a dbc motor in my 05, with a 02 computer and run a 05 harness. If I modded the harness to work with the dbc set up?

Do any of you swappers still have your '99-'06 4.3 exhaust manifolds laying around?

A little surface rust wouldn't be too bad, so long as it hasn't progressed to serious pitting. The issue is the distance. We couldn't be much farther apart.

Well my wife picked up the 5.3L that was pulled out of a 01 tahoe. I pulled it out of the back of my truck today and I was a a bit bummed. I paid $800 for the engine to include wiring harness and PCM. Well when I got the engine out of the back of my truck, I found that they cut all the wires going aft of the engine that would have gone to the transmission and firewall etc... Whats the point.... I'm going to give the guys a call on Monday and my guess is that they will take of the connections and hand it to me to splice. the other item is 2 broken ignition modules, one on each side. It's obvious they broke them when they installed the chain to left the engine out. WTF... I'm not happy with how this is starting out. Here are some pictures of us getting the engine out of the back of the truck......

I suggest you not feel bad about this any more, because this is typical. I actually expected it, but that's because I've been at this hobby for decades. I too had a broken coil and a cut harness with my LM7, and no harness at all on my LQ4, and neither included the engine computer. Even their chain work cracked one of my LM7's valve covers nearly in half. They're not gonna include anything they can charge you extra for by selling it separately, and they're not gonna be careful of the parts they expect you to replace. They're just a bunch of disgruntled minimum-wage guys, doing the bare minimum to keep getting their tiny paychecks.
