    if its a g80 the side gears & spider gears are prolly stripping out.seen it happen alot.pull your cover off and look at it. gm dealers keep them in stock or they did when i had to buy some.

    oh great... how pricie is that? or would i spend just as much geting a tru trac?

    rons machine shop has them like 385ish shipped or something like that.

    how hard would it be to install the tru trac? i dont trust my local shops but have never messed with a rear end myself before but i'm a quick learner and very good with a wrench

    Its not so much the instal, but the back lash and using the right shims unless you know a mechanic/ trans- rear end place that could let you borrow shims and tool to measure backlash. i had a mechanic help me with mine cuz he had the tools and it took about 3 hours to get it all figured out.. take your time and be pickyy..
