...first time I've seen this thread.

Coming from this site and spending some time on TitanTalk, this is "it" in a nutshell:

Some Titan owners aren't interested the least bit in performance. A lot of them desert race them or off-road or simply daily drive them...and at that, the trucks do extremely well.

Other Titan owners are dumping tons of money into them trying to make them fast. There are some running in the 12's and 13's. But any reasonable member over there knows that they're fighting an uphill battle to make one the same caliber as a GM. They know that the same goals can be reached with a GM for far less money.

That being said, to each their own. They like the trucks. Stock, they're one of the fastest trucks out there and I think that's what puts the bug in them to try to make them faster. We all know (and they quickly find out) that a 5.3 or 6.0 can easily be made faster and the advantage they have as a stock truck quickly goes away.

Bottom line - if you want to go fast, GM is definitely the better choice. I think most of them know that.

I will say I don't regret buying my Titan a bit. My goal isn't to go fast. I was shopping for reliable, capable (off-roading), and affordable. I paid $19k for mine. It's a 2007, 4wd, 6" lift, 60,000 miles, crew cab (far more room in the back than a crew cab Silverado). It also has some pretty cool features that I wish GM stuff came with: Two (technically - one is a cross brace) driveshaft loops, a huge aluminum driveshaft, a ridiculous amount of room in the back seat area, the back seat folds up so you have the massive floor area for cargo, power window in back glass, etc. Look around at 2007 4wd crew cab Silverado's with similar mileage and they're a whole lot more money than I paid. I miss the crap out of my old truck, but for what I need, I'd buy the Titan all over again.
