    few questions about a swap in an 85 c10

    im putting the msd box with a holley 650 on it but was wandering what headers i should use .. and if i will have any issues with the f body oilpan... i have heard a 5.3 oilpan might work ...im new to this and jus need a lil input ... i have a th350 tranny and im puttin a texas speed 228/228 cam in it ... any input will help thanx

    im using an f body oil pan in my 86 so that shouldnt be a problem but headers im in the same boat you are!

    are you goin fuel injection or carb.. i heard that 99 f body headers will work

    Ive been thinking about this swap, and especially in non computer controlled cars, I think going with a 4-barrel manifold, the MSD controller, and the Powerjection III stand alone EFI would minimize the wiring and tuning and you would still have the advantage of EFI.

    The wiring/tuning needed to make the 5.3L run is fairly straight forward. Really wouldn't be anymore difficult than trying to run another system at a higher cost, IMO. I'm about halfway done with my swap.

    Point taken. And I agree. Just thinking the whole hi-rise manifold/carb look was more hotrod looking....oh, and stand alone,
