i was charging 180.00, but every else around town was charging 300.00-500.00 so boss told me to go up, but set my own price..

keniff.. i almost choked when i read .050".. i have set some gears up as loose at .018" for dirt track cars.. and as tight as .002" in a 9" for a drag car.. both of those are both on their 3rd season of racing..

i get on the internet on my iphone, when i type sometimes the stupid phone cant keep up and i dont realize it till its too late.

250-300 is a fair price actually. the pressing the bearings on and off then setting everything up can range from 2-3.5hrs depending on how much you have to do and if the axles are being a pita to come out or your seals are bad. thats why im glad Ron sent me everything i needed so we just changed it all even though the truck only had 43k on it

sounds like your gears were setup to tight specially the backlash.. usually what causes gears to sing!!

dont care about gear run in, i usually install gears then go to the track thats enough break in for me <---- dont reccomend but thats me.. i change my gear oil same time i change the oil in the motor every 3 weeks of just racing which usually 8 passes on any given night, i do this for the first 90 days then i only change the oil in the engine.. i just checked the gears on last oil change and the wear pattern is perfect the backlash is still set where i like it soooo i probably wont change the gear oil for awhile unless something seriously goes wrong
