I'm not sure, I'd say sand it, use adhesion promoter, primer filler, wetsand, then base coat and clear coat and wetsand again... That process always worked for me...

humm kk ill try it out, i always do a crap load of coats and it always chips, i usally sand every 2 coats tho does that matter?

I have a black grille, and i painted my bowtie black. I sanded it with like 4oo grit if i remember correctly, then used 2 coats of etching primer, 3 coats of paint (waiting hour or so between coats) and a 4ish coats of clear. Have had it for almost 2 years, have 1 or 2 tiny chips, but that is from pretty hard abuse by bugs/ following behind other trucks on gravel roads, hitting branches offroad, etc.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum
