    Yeah the 862s will give better compression but won't flow as well. You gotta think about how much the head gaskets and bolts cost to install heads if you are wanting to put something different later. $30+ for gaskets and $40+ for bolts. For best of both I would try to find a nice set of 243s, more compression and same flow as the 317s, but then again they will cost more $$.

    I would be going to a bigger motor later, just have to start somewhere.
    5.3, small cam, 918 springs, 7.4 rods, walboro pump, Full built 4l60, 2800-3000 stall, TB spacer, long tubes, cat delete, single 3" exhaust with Aero bullit muffler. Flaco tuned.

    then spend the extra cash on ARP head bolts so you can reuse them later if you build that 408-418 imo.

    I plan on buying them. Hopefully in about a month, everything will be done...
