Thread: turbo timer installation questions?

    ok got it installed just one question. when i shut it down and remove the key about 10 seconds into the countdown the (ABS) light turns on?? only turns on when i remove the key from the ignition and the turbo timer takes action?? is this normal or what?
    06 silverado crew cab 4.8L

    You don't need a turbo timer with an STS kit. The check valve on the oil inlet keeps the oil from pooling in the turbo's sump after you shut it down. All you need to do is let your truck idle for about 30 seconds after you park it, then shut it down. I've had my STS kit for over 2 years and I've never had a problem with the turbo being too hot before shut down. I check the intake pipes regularly for oil and they're always dry, meaning the tubro's seals are fine, meaning the turbo isn't getting too hot before shutdown. The turbo sits far enough away from the engine's heat to not get hot enough to justify a turbo timer.

    yea ive done that for a while but im a impatient person i guess and my wife doesnt seem to understand not to shut it off right away when she drives it so i just spent the $29 that this apexi knock off was and put it in.

    ok guys need some input, truck does the countdown and shuts off as it should but trhe abs light comes on and my a/c compressor still clicks on,but my blower motor does not work. maybe i need to switch some wires or somehing??

    i dont know if its wired right or not now, i tried searching but had a hard time finding the pinouts for my truck. does anyone have the pinout for the ecu and ignition pigtails? also the parking brake wire i just grounded out is this correct or not? need some help guys,i really need a pin out for the ignition and ecu.
