whoooo so decided to break my truck
so its 3 inthe morning, bored out of my skull, me and a buddy decided to head up to farmington to do some off roading. had some fun, hauled through some trails. did a few little hill climbs. off roaded for about 2 hours and decided it was all good and call it a night. heading back found this sweet climb. pretty steep but thought id give it a shot. 4 low, 1st gear crawlin towards it. front tires hit the apex of the climb and got on her. got about 20 ft up and the front end hit a soft spot, i kept in her and felt a lil hop (which 4x4 guys know is not a good thing) and then i hear a sickling snap and something hit my floor board. i trip out and get out of the throttle. put it in reverse and slowly come down the hill. get to the bottom and jump out. i pull my phone out since i didnt have a flashlight. check the front driveshaft, transfer case, and everything looks good. i pray its not in the pumpkin. get back in. put in two wheel and put around. nothing binding or anything. which is good cause the pumpkin would have let me know right away. put in 4 wheel and nothing out of the front end. no diff between 2 and 4 wheel at all. so i get back out and strt checking evrything again. making sure the transfer case isnt spilling fluid or anything. then i check out the front end. and sure enough there it was, driver side half shaft destroyed. completly ripped out and stripped at the diff side. o man it looked terrible. well luckily i had my saw zall in my truck from earlier today. so there i am, middle of the night, about 30 miles down a trail, friend holding 2 cell phones for as much light as possible as i saw my halfshaft off as close to the wheel bearing cv as i can get the blade so it doesnt destroy my a arms, shocks and steering on the way home. lol so as bad as it was, it couldnt have really gone any better since i had to tools to get home and the halfshaft is only 75 bucks from autozone. all and all, not such a bad night haha. ill have some pics up in the morning
Today 03:25 am 6 stringer o thats a good point, its ok ill just add a blinker fluid cooler
Today 03:24 AMtruckinL33 that's not a good place for it, you can overheat your blinker fluid with the capacitor
Today 03:23 AMtruckinL33 i need them for when i go back to 1985
Today 03:23 AM6stringer i mounted my flux capacitor next to my blinker fluid resevoir
Today 03:22 AMtruckinL33 me too, right next to my flux compasator!
Today 03:22 AM6stringer hey gear oil needs to be cooled, i have front and rear diff coolers
