ported 317s flow good, ported l92s flow better
Just got my Ported L92's back.... 358 cfm at .620 lift.... That's bowl work, some minor runner work, some chamber work and a valvejob.
If you are staying 6.0L, not stroking, I think ported 317's are a better option. They keep low rpm flow (and tumble) better, the ported L92's seem to like more cubes, mine are going on a LS2 stroker. The ported l92's will outrun the 317's above 6000, but 2000-6000, the 317s tend to put out better torque numbers, like 20 ft-# more given the same cam.

If you are going to shave them, look for 243 or 799 heads. Same port and runner, smaller chamber cc. 243's are getting real common 2007+ LH6's and LMG's came with them or 799's. 243's and 799's are virtually identical, they just come from different foundry's, hence the different casting #. The 799's are cast with a slightly finer grain sand, so they flow a smidge better stock (smoother runners), but if you are porting, there will be no difference.
