Daytona Beach is not too bad. There are quite a few colleges in town and a good number of good lookin' girls. I've only been here since January but it's pretty fun. The Wheather is Florida's down fall IMO. It rains more in a month here than it does in Cali in an entire year. California is the REAL sunshine state and there are NO hurricanes there. I never even experienced an earthquake in the 22 years I lived in Cali. I honestly want to know why Florida is called the sunshine state because there is NOT that much sunshine.

i ran across this thread in a search. i was wondering if you could inform me on what the thermal bypass is? if it helps i live in Wisconsin right now and from dec-march the temp rarely gets above 32. is that something i need when running a trans cooler? i've got a stock 4l60e with the vette servo and i will be running a 3k stall soon. any information is appreciated. good write up by the way!

Getting one with the bypass would be wise since you're in a cold climate. All it was in the cooler I had was a smaller orifice for the fluid to be able to go through the entire cooler when it was still cold and viscous. Once it heats up to proper temp, it will go through the normal path within the cooler. Make sure to run the new tranny cooler in between the output fluid line directly from the trans, and just before going back into the stock radiator cooler. It will help stabilize your temps, which is important, and takes some heat out of the factory radiator too. That's what my observation was, but someone else may disagree![]()
