I used an impact for my crank pulley and got the puller for a dodge ram to pull it off with. Also if u dont have an extra set of hands it is gonna be a PITA to swap the springs

If you change the cam chain and you take your oil pump off then i would go ahead and just buy a new o ring.
So what kind of HP numbers am i looking at: ls6 cam and set of yellow springs. i will get a tune next month i am out of money. but i am wondering if all this work is even going to be worth it.
From what I read according to a book, LS6 cam will net you about 20-30hp at the crank. If I'm wrong someone will chime in. IMO I look at it this way, an LS6 cam Is a stock LS Motor cam, why not go more aggressive if your going through the swap anyway.

The LS6 cam is great for more power over stock but mainly it will pass emissions. If you dont have to worry bout emissions then yes go bigger. With this cam where you will notice its power is in the upper RPM power band. You still will have good lower, but it will be like a light switch like other bigger cams. You dont wanna go to high on shift points though. Id keep it around 6200 at the most.

im kind of in some deep sh_t, i put a tool into the block to hold up the lifters, as im putting the new cam into the motor i hear a thud, i start looking into the pushrod holes and one my lifters fell. so im wondering can i pull the oil pan and than some how get it back into its sleeve, or do i need to pull the whole topend apart. if anyone lives near seattle WA and wants to come give me a hand, i could really use the help. thanks.
You don't here of many falling. Did you spin cam atleast 360 before removing? Then pull it out and stick new one straight in?

u can pull the pan and do it...its a PITA but it can be done
I made sure to spin the cam, and even put in some wooden dowels to make sure the lifters didnt fall, i started to take apart the topend last night, does anyone have a good write up for head and intake removal, and also where did the lifter fall?
