LS1 Oil pump died in truck. Time for a rebuild. Need some recommendations on parts

    Hey guys.

Bought a 1999 new body silverado and it was running mint. Oils were all topped up and new oil change.
Dad drove it 4 hours to my new house and all went well truck ran mint.

I go to start it and the check oil light came on and then i was getting lifter bleed down. So shut it off and checked all the connections on the sensors and all is good. Restarted it and lifter bleed down was bad so i shut it off. No bottom end noise at all.

So i was planning on doing the following. I would like to make 350whp tunned

    Engine:
    Bore .10th
Federal Mogul Over haul kit pistons rings
    Moroso Oil pump

Pacesetter headers Y pipe and a 3" exhaust
    Volant intake.

Now i would like to pick up a set of LS6 heads for this build.

I need to know what cam do you guys recomened thats still good on gas and makes good power and torque.

Any links or ideas on over haul kits also.

    Josh

ls6 heads with stock pistons (I don’t know if “Federal Mogul Over haul kit pistons” keep stock CR)will lose CR and kill any gains you might have gotten for ls6 heads, so you will have to mill ls6 geads down to get CR up

Whats the CC on the stock LQ4 i think is whats in my 99 silverado ? And whats the CC on the heads for the Z06. I thought when most manufactors made replacement pistons they made the dome slightlight large to raise the compression to the same CR as it was with the OEM bore? This is the honda world im refering to. I should contact federal Mogul and ask them.

Would i be better off getting some LS6 pistons?

Just looked at motor around the area. $1750 for one with 180,000km, I like the idea but best deal i see is $2000 bucks with under 100,000 but i got to drive 5 hours.
