    4L60E Slip

I know there are a lot of 4L60E post on here but here goes. What will cause my trans to slip in all gears under full throttle but shift perfect at part to moderate throttle? I work as a general automotive tech but I don't know much about transmission internals; besides how to replace the transmission as a unit. (Toyota doesn't allow us to rebuild them so they don't send us to school to learn how)

I know it is a 4L60 and it will die eventually but I was just curious what to look for to be broke when I go to rebuild it.

nothings "broken" there lots of friction plates and steel plates that work as clutches, when a trans slips the frictions are sliding onthe steels weather its the frictions wearing out, not enough fluid pressure or in your case just to much power and the stock parts dont have enough holding force. so your clutches arnt so far gone as to where they dont hold under moderate power but are deff weakend. you should find a decent amout of meterial in ur oil if you were to drain it.

love the ''questionable 4l60e'', it sounds to me like you don't have enough pressure on the clutch packs during hard throttle. i would recommend that you install a set of 4l65e servos or 'vette' servos. that should give you alot less slippage and alot crisper shifts.

Not a ton of material in the pan to speak of. I pulled the pan right after this started and change the filter and fluid. Then flushed the trans with the machine we have at the dealership. Think it might be a pressure problem and clutches

If you suspect that your trans is slipping in all gears at wot do a line pressure test to see what is going on. If you do not have line rise you need to find out why.
