I agree 100%. Even though we all love our LS conversions & would'nt have it any other way, anyone that hasn't done one, but is going to do one, really doesn't know yet, how many little(and sometimes costly) extra's come into play, that you won't see in a conventional engine repower. So many new LS conversion guys come on here to proudly(rightfully so) tell us, or show us, their LS progress, an say: "Well...I started this project 6 months ago, and I'm finally just about to fire this bad-boy up". lol Cracks me up...cause I know exactly what they went through to get it to that point. And chances are, they STILL have to install exhaust, intake snorkel, gauge wiring, etc, lol. All this, when the old 305 engine could have been rebuilt/replaced in a week-end, lol. But...Is it worth it? Oh Yeah! It sure is.![]()

Owning an OBS isn't practical period. They don't have or gain good resale value no matter what you do to them. I don't think anyone who owns an OBS (especially those doing a motor swap) are thinking practical. If you want practical go buy a geo metro.
