would running without a tune for about a week or two be ok, just driving every once and awhile, i will use something else as my dd.

You will be fine.. > It will die from time to time as you come off throttle or turn the wheels to lock. The stock idle RPM is too low for a TR220. As a side note the TR needs at least a 2800 RPM converter and stout springs to turn up the RPM's. Honestly when you look at the supporting mods on a 5.3 the TR220 may be a bit anemic. I ran this cam on a 112 lsa with 3600 circle d and 4.10's. I would have purchased a higher lift, split duration cam if I had done my homework. Yes the cam performed flawless under N20, however it did not impress me N/A. Here is a clip of my TR220/112 idling. As you can tell it has a cam but it does not sound nasty..
