Thread: my 5.3/700r4 build

    my 5.3/700r4 build

    i started this build on my 88 chevy its a 03 5.3 with 30k miles from a roll over truck. im using the 700r4 since i just had it fully built i will switch to a l60 later on. the swap was damm easy!!! i had a harder time puttin the adapter plates on than puttin in the motor lol well heres the swap its still under construction

    i guess its from when the truck was upside down but i opend the up the valve covers n dam it was klean! as for mods ill order a custom grind cam with some juice. as soon as i get some cash ill order the lt headers

    looking good, but pressure wash the motor before you assemble everything. i like the placement of the motor its sitting far back and low.

    Congratz man, nice to see someone with the same year truck as myself... got my 5.3 sitting in the garage, right now I am just looking for a few goodies, and weighing out my options b4 I get her put in! Also thanx for posting a pic of your Trans Dapt plates, Summit kept pulling the wrong plates up for me online, and was confusing me about the set I should go with! Were they a pain to put on, any grinding involved? Keep up the work, and post pics as much pics as you can... love seeing peeps progress, and it helps!

    thanks!! i used those plates since they r the ones scheonfeld headers recomend for thier headers. they werent hard to put on it took me a while cuz i had them the wrong way lol ill keep u all updated
