It very well could be, but just adding a new set of pipes wouldn't make it go that lean. Pull the plugs, if they are getting that hot they will be visually melted

Never heard of that happenning on a Harley. Sounds electrical. If it was that lean it would have other issues like backfiring through the carb. No spark No Boom.
