    someone school me with 4.56's

I have 4.56s now in my rcsb, and im still confused with the tire height situation. Im currently running a 28" tall tire. Could some one tell me the difference in running a 28" and a 30" tire.

    a 4.56 on 28" tire would be like a 4.3 something on a 30" tire.

Bigger tires, lower 'gear' ratio is seen by vehicle.

Example: i have 36" tires...so my 4.56 is probably turning less rpm then your STOCK gear did.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

i guess what im trying to say is which one is going to make me quicker, its not my D.D. Right now im runnin 28" and around 65mph im running around 2400 rpm.

which one will be better for 1/8 mile i guess you could say

The smaller tire with you 4.56 would be better in the 1/8 if you can keep traction because there’s no way your going to run out of gear/ top out truck in the 1/8

Smaller tire. Lets the motor rev faster, lighter, and the ground has less torque on your axle (if that makes sense compared to larger tire). You won't run out of gear on 1/4 either as long as your tune lets you shift into OD @ full throttle...

If you had to shift that many times it would make for a pretty slow time.

You gotta find a happy medium. If it makes up for the shift time in how hard and fast it revs then you can overcome that. But 3rd runs about 12Xmph in my truck with 33's.

if you have the powerband then you wont have to shift into OD. 456 and 28" bias tire gives you 1" of growth. at 118mph it should be at 62xx thru the traps with a locked converter
