First time at the track w/ new truck

So I ran at the local 1/8 mile last night with the new 2500GMC. I edged out 2 mustangs...an 06 w/ exhaust and a stock 08 GT with times of a 9.81 and 9.89. Then on my last run I was beat by an 08' CCSB 1500 Vmax with tune, exhaust, and CAI by almost a truck length. Pretty good run for the first time out w/ few mods.

Nice numbers for such a burly beast. Youve got the 6.0, I assume?

Yea, 6.0 with head work...ported/polished and my old boss swapped out the rocker arms/pushrods/springs, not sure on the specs but it def pulls better on the top end than before. I've got a locking rearend with 4.56's so it pulls pretty good in the 1/8

didn't need to...the track there was pretty sticky. Somethin's up with my transmission, I've got some serious torque mgmt issues w/ this 6 speed. I know i've got plenty of power to do so but when I take off from stop it feels like I'm pullin a parachute but from a roll at around 10-15mph i can break the tires loose

my 09 does that too out of the hole. is it a tuning issue? it wont do a burnout with the t\c off either.

My truck doesn't even have the optional t/c switch, I will be going to San Antonio pretty soon to get a full tune from Nelson Perf to see whats up w/ this trans, I'll let you know what it does.

Its all in the tune, so dont sweat it. Ive got one of those six speeds laying around, trying to save some money to get that thing in my truck. How do you guys like the shifting and gearing?
