what the max. lift for stock 5.3 valve springs? i just purchased a tr224 .563 114" i was wondering if stock valve springs will work? if not how hard is it to install springs and is there any measurements that need to be checked? thanks for all the help

i wouldnt use the stock springs with that cam the comp 918s are good for .600" of lift. i would also go ahead and get some hardened pushrods to go with it. as far as the swap its not that hard it is just very time consuming just make sure you have a good valve spring tool i would recommend the one from comp cams it will make your swap alot easier. as far as a how to on the swap i used this one i think it is about the best one you will find.

When i say 918's, I meant that the stock springs cant handle a tr224. That's all i thought was needed to be said.

Stock springs are a no go, valve springs aren't hard at all just a pain in the ass and time consuming. Comp's 918's are a popular replacement as are the Patriot duals. I'd go with duals if you wanted to spin the motor higher than 6000

think max lift is like .500,,,i ran a 522.529' on my stock springs on my 5.3.
i wouldnt risk it thought with that cam
