    5.7 is LS1. 6.0 is a LQ4, LQ9, or L76, depending on which vehicle it came in. There are multiple benefits of the LS based motors over the older motors. Reliability, performance, output, mileage...

    So either the 5.3 or 6.0 not the 5.7? I am assuming all will require wiring and computer swap. Just trying to factor bang for buck with limited funds...

    5.7 would work too, but they are more expensive and harder to obtain. Wiring, computer, and fuel are the major issues. Depending on which motor mounts you use will determine other factors such as driveshaft and cross member relocation.
