    89 c2500 swap to 6.0/4l85e

Hey guys, just got a wrecked 2wd 04 2500hd from my work for a pretty good deal. Plan is to rebuild the trans, leave the engine how it is for now (dont have the $$ for a rebuild on it at the moment), and then install it in my gfs project truck, which is an 89 c2500.

Buncha questions though. First, I know I need to grab pretty much any wire that plugs into the engine, computer, etc. Is it going to try to trip a code for a security system when I put it in the new truck? Also wanting to try to use the gas pedal from the 04 and maintain the throttle by wire system, anyone know if it will work in the 89?

Second, what will I have to do engine mount wise to put this in?

Last, for now (there will be a ton more) does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 6.0's FI system, so I make sure I get it all.

Ya a search can answer most of these questions.
You will need to have VATS (security) turned off in the pcm by a tuner.
The DBW system can easily be made to work in the 89 as long as you have all its (matching) parts. The pedal, TAC module, and throttle body must be matching. Also need the wiring harness that connects the pedal to the tac. Just take the cable pedal out of the 89 and mount the dbw pedal and plug it all in.

Not sure on the engine mounts since the 89 is a c2500. If its no different than a c1500 then all you need are motor mount adapter plates like the Dirty Dingo plates (do a search).

Cant help on the wiring diagram. Either get a buddy from a gm service center (like i did) to hook you up or subscribe to alldatadiy.com. Just grab everything you can and cut little or nothing.
