I should have mentioned, you can use the new dbw harness, but modified, but then use a dbc pcm, such as an 02 truck pcm.

We have flashed '03 pcm's with files that shouldn't have took, but it's not recommended, cause weird things happen.

So I could run the 02 motor I have with the 02 computer, and just have a dbw harness modified to work this set up. Reason behind wanting to stay dbc is Ive driven a few dbw cars/ trucks and just did not like the feel.

If the modded harness is the way to go, could you PM me prices for that along with tuning. Im only 2 hrs from SA so I could come by and have it on the dyno.

If it is tuned right you can't tell the difference between DBC and DBW.
Allen is right the conversion of the harness is easy, but I think for the sake of a simpler install you would want the DBW. Expect problems with your serial related systems when you go to a 2002 PCM. For one thing the AC is serial triggered on the 2003 and your 2002 PCM won't accept that as a trigger. Not sure you could make the stock HVAC unit work.
