    piston carnage w/out damage to sidewall.. weird..

    when mine blew, rods shot thru the block..

    The rod or piston pin almost always scratches the cylinder wall. I would definitely tear it down to bare block to check and rebuild it.

    your probably better off with a rebuild cuz once you damage a piston more than likely the rest of them have been weakened to some extent
