    Just a quick question

Ok so when me and my boss were tuning my truck we noticed that every time I got on it it would throw any where from 3 all the way up to 5 KR's. My boss is saying it is because my exhaust is too damn loud and since it is dumped it is giving me that many KR's. I know I can unplug my knock sensor and that will keep my timing from retarding but I dont want to f**k up my motor by keeping it like that and i dont want it to turn the CEL on and put it in safe mode. I am going to have a Y-pipe built so I can at least put a muffler on but I want to know for the time being WILL it mess up my motor by leaving the knock sensor unplugged?

First of all, a loud exhaust usually doesn't cause KR. Kr is caused by many things, but not a loud exhaust. I guess anything is possible, but not likely in this case.
If the cel turns on, the truck doesn't go into safe/limp mode due to kr or having the sensor unplugged.

Might wanna pull some timing or use better fuel to keep the KR down.

    good luck,

What is your timing at full throttle because if your trying to put it up there like the old smallblocks, around 36 thats way to much. I had a 350 built up in my truck, aluminum heads, small cam, and still only could run at the most 28 degrees
