I thought it was the used converter also. Some things, unless I know the seller real well, I wont buy used. Cams are another thing I won't buy used.

So from the original post you say that it whines through second, and first, sometimes third and not in 4th?

Well I know that the PCM won't lockup in 1st and 2nd, it will lock up part of the time in 3rd, and most of the time in 4th when on the highway.

So I would guess the whine is only from the converter, and only when its unlocked. When its locked or partially locked the sound it mitigated.

How loud is it exactly? Are we talking can't here yourself think over it loud or just annoying but ignorable? If its lasted this long and its not failed I'd just roll with it. Chasing sounds is usually futile.

its pretty loud, peeps can hear it from outside the truck, but once rolling you cant really hear it, im not too worried about it anymore, i just went to fort smith, AR last night and thats about a 220 mile round trip i even hit the 100 shot a couple times, ill worry about it when it goes out i guess but until then im driving it.
