Hello to all.Just dropped the ole 4 banger scene and hit the V8's.lol got myself into a 2001 Silverado,the truck has the 4.8L decently modded motor( heads,cam,tune,long tubes and exhaust) 4:10's eaton posi but I want a motor with some big N/A potential and I'm pretty serious about getting a LS1 into this truck.Finding the motor isn't a problem,but does anyone know how difficult this is and if I can retain a/c and p/s.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you have a V8 in it now, then theres no problem swapping to another, does the v8 you have in it now have ac/ if so then its good to go

yeah it has everything in it now I was just wondering if i can keep it I'm used to swapping other types of cars where you lose a lot of that stuff.Yeah I know it's a V8 but i would like to put down some higher number without resorting to boosting or nitrous and haven't seen to much about the 4.8 being a power house as it sits 320 rwhp just not cuttin it lol (does anyone know anyone that has done this)

All the stuff that is bolted to the 4.8 will bolt to the 5.7L LS1. Direct swap.

Dependent on what heads and cam you have you can also take those and swap them directly into a ls1 for a lil extra power. Unlike the 4 banger scene the chevy world is mostly interchangable. 4.8, 5.3, ls1, 6.0 are all direct swaps. All that is normally needed is a tune.
