Well Its going in a jeep cherokee that originally had the 4.0l. At any rate the V8 will be an improvement! Im thinking that due to the cost difference i may just be forced to go the ls1 route. Not ideal i know but i think its whats bets for me and my buddy who are doing the swap. Not doing it for improved looks or performance but for packaging. If we loose 10 hp accross the board then thats a hit we have to take. And my poor buddy who is funding the project already has over 5 grand into parts as it is and running out of money. So if the LS1 gets it done for approx $300 less then i think thats what has to happen. Unfortunate i know, but hey, at least this way we can do an intake/cam upgrade later on!

p.s. We started this with intentions of a 5.3 but found a 500 mile LQ4 for a grand so we went with it.
