Thread: A/C wires to where?

    A/C wires to where?

I have an 02 silverado harness and am doing an lq4 swap into my 98 c1500. There are I think 3 wires for the a/c they are a/c request, a/c high pressure recirculation circuit, a/c low pressure signal, and a/c clutch relay control. I didn't notice wen i took them off but where do the wires go to so I know how to route them.

They run in the harness that goes under the front of the oil pan then up to the a/c compressor in the LQ4 harness.

Which A/C compressor you going with? Aftermarket, such as a Sanden 508, or a truck or F-body or Vette compressor?

I know for sure not aftermarket don't have money for that or the powers bracket. So i'd like to find a bracket and modify it and a stock a/c compressor. NOt sure which one I can use though.

Ok I got my wires pretty much routed, now the three plugs that are for the A/C some wires go to the old fuse block and are like high pressure cutoff or something like that I can get names if you want. But where do they go to, If they went to fuse block i'm guessing they are power right? And if they are power are they fused, relayed? How can I tell, just looks like they went to a fuse but i'm not too positive on the A/C wiring.

The two wire plug, that plugged into your old harness's compressor, has a green wire and a black wire. The green wire in the compressor clutch activation wire, that come from the A/C relay. The black wire is a ground wire. If the plug still simply plugs right onto the compressor, than thats that. But if your using a single wire requirement compressor, then simply cut the ground wire & bring it back into the harness & connect it to all the other black grounds in the harness. Are you using the accumalator on the firewall, with the two wire switch/plug harness, or not?

Ok heres what I got, still not sure where the wires would go.
    1. Black-Ground
Dk Green-A/C low pressure signal switch

    2. Black-Ground
Dk Green- A/C compressor clutch solenoid feed

    3. Lt Blue- A/C high pressure cutout switch
    Dk Green/white- A/C Request signal

Can someone help me out here i'm not sure where they go. I'm planning if possible to use my stock a/c system with a different compressor. Probably a compressor out of the 02 silverado if it will fit. Just not sure where the wires go.
