i understand about bolting them together was more courious on the electrical side of things

no electrical to worry about, the trans will shift like the old school trans do, or make it fully manual.
Not sure on the speedometer, but i have a mechanical to electrical converter for my electronic speedo on my powerglide.

i know some ppl in the fbody world are using the ABS sensor as the speedo. they create a value in the pcm to configure the speedo
