    New guy from Texas

Hi everyone. After my 96 GMC got totaled several months ago I replaced it with another GMC. This time with a 01 SWB SLE. Still stock so far, with the exception of a leveling kit which was on it when I bought it.

I was already a fan of the LS engines and really wanted my next truck to be LS equiped. Although my little 4.8 doesn't tow as well as my old 5.7 vortech(not as much low end torque) I have really enjoyed it so far. While looking for info for a 6.0 or 5.3 swap, I found this site. Been reading and learning ever since. Thanks for a great site!

Thanks. About 1 hr west on IH 10 from SA, small town of Center Point(near Kerrville). Do you still have those SS wheels for sale?

welcome to ls1truck, and don't worry 4.8l can fun, i have stainless longtube headers and an offroad y-pipe on mine with cold air and some 1.75 rockers, just with those mods on a stock tune, it gets around hella good, oh yeah, vette servos too

Thanks. I have been thinking of starting with a set of long tubes and muffler, since whatever I do with exhaust I can use with a 6.0 or 5.3 swap later on. Got to get tires first though, getting thin.
