best places to find a LS motor/combo?

i've been reading like crazy on here and a few other places, and was just wandering where everyone is getting there motor/tranny's from to do these swaps?

any places you guys would personally recommend? i mean i can get on google and type on junk yards,and call them, but i'd really would rather have some advice from people like you guys that have personally dealt with some of these places

What are you looking to do? Just a direct swap, tear down and build or fully built? If you are looking for just a direct swap, you can try LKQ. Sometimes you can find some good deals on ebay as well.

It's a longshot I know, but my buddy just scored a 19,xxx
mi. warranty takeout from an '03 Silverado. $200.00
It had been sitting on a pallet since '04 back in the corner of the shop.
Talked to the service writer, the mechanic that swapped it out, checked the warranty paperwork, AND tracked down the original owner............only complaint, cold start piston noise!

Just keep an eye open...the good deals show up in odd places!

i use a local place doesnt have a web site or anything but pretty much has all kinds of things for ls motors, including full motors, wiring harnesses and trans, i could get the guys number for you he's pretty reasonable and for parts he's pretty cheap.

kelley's used cars on A street man, he has a crap load of trucks and motors in the back just stop and ask him, or get ahold of me and we'll run by there he knows us pretty good.
