Thread: New guy with a question!

    New guy with a question!

Hey guys...thinking about doing an LSx swap into a Fox body Mustang. A friend is going to look at an LS1 4l60e engine/trans/harness for me. The seller claims the complete setup is out of a 2006 police Tahoe.

I'm curious what markings there are on the engine/heads/trans that would identify whether it's in fact an LS1 from a police Tahoe?

Any accessories that are on the engine that could be used to identify or confirm its origins?

Stupid question but would an LS1 from a police truck platform have a truck intake manifold and accessory brackets?

    TIA.

It should be stamped on the block if it is a 5.3 or 6.0. Yes it should have all truck accessories unless they swapped something different into it. If it was a police vehicle, it's been ridden harder than Tyler's mom.....and that's pretty hard....

That was my first thought as well.

I'm interested in it because it's supposedly 100% complete...engine...trans...accessories...harness. ..computer. I'm in no hurry though.
