    need some help (NEW PROJECT)

Hey guys I just got a new project. I just bought a 1998 Gmc Sonoma reg cab short bed with a 4 banger. I just started to drive it these two weeks and I changed the motor oil and found metal shaveing on the drain plug and its making a knocking nosie. I think I might have bad main bearing seals or a bad oil pump because I lose pressure. Any one have any ideas about this?

If you are losing oil pressure and have found good amounts of metal shavings on the magnet on the drain plug, you have some issues ahead of you with that motor. In isolated cases, the oil sending unit may be going out as well. But its hard to overlook metal shavings AND sporadic loss of oil pressure...

What are your plans for it?
