anybody know anything about accelorator pedal position sensor?

hopefully someone will have some insight for me. I had posted on another page but either wasnt clear or just put it in wrong forum. My truck is an 03 caddy 5.3 and my problem is the accelorator pedal position sensor is bad. when the truck goes into reduced engine power mode i can shut it off, wiggle the plug on the sensor, and be on my way. My pedals are power adjustable and dealer-only to the tune of 280.00 bucks because it replaces entire assembly. Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier or is there a part number for the sensor specifically, not with pedal, power motor, ect.

Ducky thanks for your reply,I thought I asked a question there was no intrest in. The only part number the dealers around me know of is for the entire pedal, electric adjustment motor and mount(the 280.00 one). The app sensor on my accelorator pedal is rivited on so I assume that its not intended to be replaced by itself. Just trying to beat the system.

yea having the adjustable pedals causes a problem with getting used parts because they are hard to find. The acelerometer is bad or the connection is bad. Not sure how those pedals are designed but prolly the only fix it the dealer unless you find a junkyard ride with adj. pedals for the same year!
    Good luck

I posted in the other thread before I read this. Is there a way you can zip tie the wires our of the way where this won't happen?

Wires are plenty out of way, there is actualy a molded plastic holder on the firewall that keeps them nice and in one place. I think since there seems to be no way around giving the dealer an unjust amount of money, once I replace part for myself, sometime I will see if I can take a sensor ment for non-adjustable pedals and somehow swap plastic houseings. maybe it will work maybe a wast of time but, if it does I will post about it

Dude the ''stealership'' I love it! got me rolln' on ground laughing! anyway that sounds good, for me just make sure its for power adjustabe pedals as my sensor is rivted to pedal. I havent had any luck at salvage yards by me. People need to wreck some trucks so we can get some parts! ,Lord I apologize.
