bad news pulled the oil pan and found gunk up oil and metal shavings . i also cut the filter and found the same so i think the 6.0 out and the 4.8 is going back in . do you think the 4.8 will have bad street manners with the tr 224 thats in the 6.0?oh with out a stall, that might have to be put on the back burner for a month or my bother can recover from the holiday expenses.
i can here a faint rod knock when i rev it .
Yikes. Not good. The 6pointOh could be used for a 370 build.
The 4.8L will be a DOG below 4k RPMs or so with that cam and stock converter....

here's the carnage !!!!!!
took a risk and replaced all the rod bearings and what do ya know no knock and i have oil pressure . let's hope it all works out i'am ready to beat on it 1. one good thing came out of this , now i have enough glitter to paint a boat!!!!
Good luck! I'm curious to see how long the replacement bearings last...
Big slow mud truck with a TUNE!!!!!!
it was just the #6 rod that had damage, the rest had normal wear. by the way the crank was not scared which suprised me .
my brother just got back from a 700 mile road trip in the truck still running strong .
