youre headers are causing a leaner issue so yes your idle will be effected since the stock computer is trying to compensate but it can only do so much with in its boundries.

Dimmer switch is a joke, no vacuum leak and i bought a new MAF so that was not the problem. I've had the headers on for 4 weeks so i wouldn't have thought that could be the problem. When i unplug the MAF it runs fine. weird

reason it runs fine with maf unplugged is default for gm is SD so it riches the fuel mixture so it doesnt harm iself when the gay maf fails

anytime you do headers it leans the mixture out!!!!!!!!!!! thus needing a tune, in some cases ppl get lean popping thru exhaust on decell

buying new maf was big waste of money, ive never seen on go bad unless it came in contact with a foreign element

That makes sense now. I don't understand why it started 4 weeks after the install though. I returned the MAF so its all good!

weather change will do this as well. in cooler air the density of the air changes so it will lean out any combination. if the setup was lean to start the cooler air will lean it out even more. the sensors work well for these conditions as long as things are in its boundries, once you toss in a monkey wrench itcan only compensate for what it was programed to endure.

or you could check your IAC and see if its all carbon'd up. if it is your idle will be effected. simply way to fix this is remove it and see if it and the tb are carbond up. if so you can get some self cleaning oven cleaner and sparingly use it. ive done this many times with great success, just dont over do it and make sure you rise it with in a few minutes.
