reason it runs fine with maf unplugged is default for gm is SD so it riches the fuel mixture so it doesnt harm iself when the gay maf fails

anytime you do headers it leans the mixture out!!!!!!!!!!! thus needing a tune, in some cases ppl get lean popping thru exhaust on decell

buying new maf was big waste of money, ive never seen on go bad unless it came in contact with a foreign element

That makes sense now. I don't understand why it started 4 weeks after the install though. I returned the MAF so its all good!

weather change will do this as well. in cooler air the density of the air changes so it will lean out any combination. if the setup was lean to start the cooler air will lean it out even more. the sensors work well for these conditions as long as things are in its boundries, once you toss in a monkey wrench itcan only compensate for what it was programed to endure.

or you could check your IAC and see if its all carbon'd up. if it is your idle will be effected. simply way to fix this is remove it and see if it and the tb are carbond up. if so you can get some self cleaning oven cleaner and sparingly use it. ive done this many times with great success, just dont over do it and make sure you rise it with in a few minutes.

Alright. See my truck has been dying on me alot here lately and it threw soome missfire codes the other day. It has a tune on it, use to be a little rich all the time. Put a CAI on it and it seemed to lean it out somewhat.

I mean it'll just slap out die on you when you come to stop. It idles at 430 anyways so it don't take much.
