dang trans going out AGAIN

Its crappy timing due to Christmas coming up. I wanted Jerry to rebuild it since it came from his shop but doesn't look like i will be able to afford him right now. I got a friend that is a tranny tech for Gm and he also builds them on the side to repair it. $750 to pull it, replace all clutches , bands, and what not, and to install it back. I pray it doesnt need any hard parts replaced. It is slipping in 4th a little and shifting softly compared to normally wanting to come through the floor board. When taking it to drop it off it took a while before it wanted to really start moving even in 1st. Yank said they would rebuild my stall for $150 plus $40 shipping. Yall think it needs it or can it just be flushed? They said they would bump it up to a 3000 stall for no extra. Any better ideas out there?

If you can't afford Jerry, then might as well have your friend do it. Make sure to put in the thick, wide Borg Warner Hi-Energy 2nd gear band and some nice Borg Warner Hi-Energy 3/4 clutches with Koleen steels.

It would be a good idea to have the verter refreshed and restalled for that price. Wise choice.

4l60e 700r4 4l80e performance gm ford transmission performabuilt

spend extra right now and save in the long run. i went through 4 or 5 stock rebuilds before i nutted up and called frank. even though i was having them rebuilt under warranty, i wish i would have replaced it with a built tranny from the start.

Its one of Jerry's already. It came out of Danials truck. It already has alot of good stuff in it. I will say that Jerry seems to be a real stand up guy. He was double checking prices and he did call me back like he said. I wish i was able to let him rebuild it but i am not in the situation money wide to let him.

IMO th400 or 4l80e. Im having problems with my 4l60e thats stock. And its behind a v6.
